On the morning of 20th July 2012, the Johannesburg Chapter of Buddha’s Light International Association donated small blankets, corn powder, bread, jam, peanut butter, etc to Kanana Park Orphanage.
Kanana Park orphanage is situated in the Southern part of Gauteng, about 40 km South of Johannesburg. The houses in Kanana Park poverty-stricken areas are built mostly with corrugated iron. They get cold in winter and hot in summer. The houses of the orphanage are not exception, because of the lack of Government funding. The age of the orphans is from 1 to 5; there are 65 children in total.
The orphanage management expressed their gratitude for the BLIA’s generous donation, and the donation ceremony ended by all participants singing & dancing with the orphans to some happy tunes.
