On 16 April 2010 Venerable Hui Fang led Lesotho BLIA chapter Supervisor Yan Mei Zhi, Chapter President Yan Mei Zhen, Chapter Vice President Lai Hui Mei together with Johannesburg Chapter President Ping De Man and others, in crossing the border to Maseru, Lesotho. They went straight on to Seleso village, where they donated wheelchairs to St. Angela Cheshire’s home, Lesotho National Disabled Association and Senkatana center. A total of twenty wheelchairs were donated.
Seleso Village Chief gave the BLIA members a warm welcome and thanked them for bringing these wheelchairs from so far away.
Mrs. Mary, who spoke on behalf of St. Angela Cheshire, said that this donation was a very benevolent act, adding that the pious gratitude in their minds was not something that one can explain using words. The donation of these wheelchairs to the center would assist many disabled people who are unable to afford them.
Lastly, a Member of the Lesotho Parliament, Mr. Mokhanoi, thanked BLIA for their great support of the public. He was very touched to see the love of Buddhism in action without boundaries, which spread to all impoverished countries so that they might also receive compassion and love.
