Just thirty kilometers (forty minutes) drive away from Bloemfontein is another small Southern African country called Lesotho. On 16 April 2010 Venerable Hui Fang led Lesotho BLIA chapter Supervisor Yan Mei Zhi, Chapter President Yan Mei Zhen, Chapter Vice President Lai Hui Mei together with Johannesburg Chapter President Ping De Man and others, in crossing the border to Maseru, Lesotho. They went straight on to Seleso village, where they donated wheelchairs to St. Angela Cheshire’s home, Lesotho National Disabled Association and Senkatana center. A total of twenty wheelchairs were donated. On 15 April 2010, Bloemfontein BLIA Chapter in the Free State Province organized two wheelchair donations events. Although it rained the events were not affected and no one left due to the rain. Early that morning the Abbot, Venerable Hui Fang together with Venerable Hui Liao led supervisor Huang Zhong Yong and Chapter President Wu Zi Ying to the Tokoloho Disabled Center, Botshabelo Township for the wheelchair donation. The Center takes care of people with mental and physical disabilities. Wheelchairs were donated to three children suffering from paralysis. Although the children could not speak nor move to express their gratitude, their eyes and the brilliant smile on their faces warmed everyone’s hearts. |
